Elberto,
Based on a press release from Ian last year he planned to enter the studio at 9.00 am on 1st January 2015 to start work on his latest work. I suspect he was as good as his word on that commitment, and he may well have gone into the studio with ideas and solo demos to work to, but there is no news on whether he has completed any demos yet. I suspect if you read it elsewhere on another chat forum and without official confirmation from Ian, it is probably spurious misleading speculation.

With the growing interest and demand in vinyl resiisues, particualrly in collector's edtion form' on heavyweight vinyl you would think that Stand up would be given the treatment. it seems to have slipped by in the catalogue. We will try to find out for you if there is any chance of it sneaking out sometime in the future.

Having just seen a couple of people posting about Tull items they want/need on Facebook. I thought we might be able to help one another and in particular anyone seeking out that rare or essential Tull item for their collections.
I have a few good second hand record stores near me [as well as several better ones in old London town] and I'm a;ways happy to browse for others when passing by or dropping in for my own vinyl or other audio fix.
So, I thought I'd add this sub-board as a way of trying to help others and, who knows, maybe we can set up an expanding network of second hand record shoppers or just a record exchange of our own.

A Happy New Year to everyone here and out there in the wider world of Tull. Next year maybe we'll buy a banner and stick it up somewhere.
May it bring you all you desire but above all a safe and healthy 365 days until we hopefully reitarate it again on Dec 31 2015. and...
May you find sweet inspiration,
May your memory not be dull;
May you rise to dizzy success;
May your wit be quick and strong;
May you constantly amaze us;
May your answers not be wrong;
May your head be on your shoulders;
May your tongue be in your cheek;
And most of all we pray that you may come back next week!
See you next year, or maybe tomorrow, whichever is the sooner.

Happy Christmas from me to everyone here and to friends in the wider Tull community.
It's been a busy year to date, with quite a few 'ups' and despite some 'downs' it's generally it's been a good year.
I had great time at the US convention hosted by Barry with assistance from Dennis and Mike. Wonderful to meet up with a lot of great people I only knew in the virtual world. Even better to find them all really nice folk who made the convention a great success and my trip over very worthwhile.
I made a lot of new friends via the convention, sadly I have to remember a few friends lost over the last 12 months, particularly close friend and longtime Tull fan Mike Sierens. Add to that the shock of Glenn's passing as well as some other notables in Tull world.
So, wishing you and yours a great Christmas and all the best for 2015
Pat

Ian, a post I'll relish having a go at. it's something to do over the holidays avoiding poor TV and excess eating, family games and cooking to try to tie some plotline together from the 'musical fantasy' script and the song lyrics. It's always fascinated me with 'concept' albums that back in the day when the limitations of audio quality on vinyl affected timings and potential track listings and because ot that the actual running order may not have matched the band's desired running order.
I remember a TV show with George Martin talking through the original conceptual running order for Sgt Peppers. If it had been delivered in the way he suggested it would have made a marked difference on the album that most know and love.
IMO it's always been a shortfall in the previous re-releases to not have an idea of Ian's preferred running order for the album and bonus tracks, plus it would be great to know when Ian wrote the song rather than recorded it. Other tracks on later albums or languishing on a shelf in 'the attic', with a different recorded feel, may have been more at home on an earlier album completing or adding to the concept.
TOTRNR and BatB are two albums that I'd put forward here for the same consideration once we have chewed WarChild over.

Hi Carsten, yes, we discussed it a while back before the DVD was released, I asked James about it after the HE show at Hammersmith earlier this year and he confirmed the pic on the backdrop was of Ian and his parents.
It's a great shot, thanks for capturing and sharing it - the male side family genes seem pretty strong in Clan Anderson, from father to son and on.

A few Tull/Ian related items were due to go under the hammer later today at Bonhams Knightsbridge, Including a few Platinum, Gold and Silver discs presented to Dee as well as the famous portative pipe organ. sadly it looks like Dee's items have been withdrawn from sale. I suppose I'll have to bid for Kieth Moon's drum kit now.

I can't disagree with a word of any that. It was great meeting and chewing the cud with some old friends from last year's visit, some old friends who I had only known as an online presence and some new friends, all Tull fans without a bad bone in their bodies it seems. Everyone and I do mean everyone, seemed to have a great time, enjoyed the bands, the IA gig and each others company. it was pretty much a solid Tull community of fans.
Thanks to Barry, Michael and Dennis for arranging so much, it was a great convention, I have a stack of pics to upload as well, time has been a bit tight of late since getting back but I promise to do it this week.
Some great Tull stories, memories and experiences, all shared digested and enjoyed.
More to come.

I'll sound like Little Sir Echo!
I've always been a lover of WarChild [as well as the black and white]. it was allowed to be overshadowed by many when considered within the trilogy of TaaB, APP and WarChild and seemingly considered by some to be the bastard child of APP when bits and pieces of the Chateau tapes were issued, BUT, IMO WarChild really comes of age with this release.

Really impressive vocals particularly Back Door Angels and Sealion. I love what now sounds like the Mighty Blackpool Tower Ballroom Wurlitzer in the background of Sealion

Well with Thanksgiving celebrations still underway, 'Black Friday' almost out of the way and the propsective UK holiday of 'Bah Humbug! Monday' due, and the impending start of a month of Christmas festivities we thought we'd get the ball rolling.
So, whatever you fancy celebrating it's Happy Holidays from The Jethro Tull Group!
Enjoy this never before seen video of Dave Pegg and PJ Wright performing a Tull Christmas classic...... "Jack Frost and the Hooded Crow" from 2008 outside of Buffalo NY.
This video has been kindly put together by Tulltapes (who also had the honor of playing bass for Peggy during his set!)

Well, if Ian thinks Maidstone is a far corner of darkest Kent then he didn't venture too far out Kentish Town back in the day. From Tull Management Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson will be performing at Ramblin' Man Fair in Mote Park, Maidstone, Kent on the weekend of July 25-26 next year! “Oh what fun it is to ride like a Ramblin’ Man to the far corners of Darkest Kent, to play once again with the support and organisation of TeamRock, Prog and those other fine publications to delight the discerning music fan. See you there – don’t forget to pack the brolly and the gum boots.” - Ian Anderson jethrotull.com/ian-anderson-to-perform-at-ramblin-man-fair-2015/

Bugger! I just bought mine online, the only local supplier near to me has ditched a large amount of their shop magazine space to accommodate a Post Office, Still always good to have a copy for The Manual, I'd hate to use someone elses! :-)

Tootull, Well let's hope for a MitG package in 2015, with a continuing series of releases with connections It's an approach that seems to work well, and IMO delivers some great quality audio and a nicely structured package to support it. For today's markets they must be commercially viable; they certainly seem to be a critically accepted series of releases.

I've not heard the 5.1 for obvious reasons [Roll on Christmas] but I can't wait, and that is simply based on the few listens I've had of the new mixes and the previously unreleased tracks.
To finally hear Good Godmother and the studio version of Tomorrow was today is great, but to hear the orchestral pieces after all this time is simply stunning. Is there more of this? I'd certainly love to think so, and would hope that if there were the collected work warrented a release on its own merits.
The booklet is great as are Carl's pics. Always a pleasure to read Martin Webb's take on things.
Like DC, I need to sit down and put digit to keyboard and do something a bit more in depth on this release and the US 2014 convention. It was great to meet up and chat with friends both old and new; a lot has happened in the year since my last trip out to NY and Boston and it was good to revisit and rekindle friendships from that trip, as well as meeting some fantastic new friends from all quarters of the US and a few places elsewhere!
Shout out to John, 'Nursie Dear', who underwent some pretty heavy surgery when he returned home from the convention, get well soon from all of us and thanks for making it a great weekend, and that goes for everyone else who attended.
