Heres a little gem unearthed by the "master digger" Gerrald. A little rough at first but after a little polishing came out pretty nicely. Chicago 1975. Darin Cody

Nice! How long did Martin play an SG? Did he record with it? Ian, he used it all through the Warchild tour as far as I have seen. I don't know about recording with it. I DO know that TOTRR was recorded using a Telecaster!!!! Martin used to have, on his site in the galleries, stories attached to each photo of the different guitars he was pictured using. I thought it was very interesting to read what guitars he chose and why. I remember him saying the first "Real" Les Paul he bought in late 69 was a 59 Les Paul Standard, that he used for years after. I think it was then listed (when I read this) at around $30,000!! He's writing a book now and I will look forward to eating it up when it comes out. He recently posted that he was up to 200 pages and he was up to 1970……..!!! lol. Darin

Is that the same gallery that was in the inside cover of "Stage Left"? 2. Is this a 'tell-all' memoir or an account of the guitars he used? Either way, I'm in. Thanks!

The gallery was on Martins "old" website. I looked just a bit ago and its not there any more. It was pretty extensive, a picture from every different tour with a story about the axe pictured. 2. It sounds like an over all autobiography and hopefully he will talk about his guitars again. I have a feeling he will he seems to like them :-) and maybe tell ALL! too. Darin

I would love to interview Martin in detail about all the gear used for recordings and gigs. I have read the stuff from his site which is good but I want details! As for the book.. who knows if we will ever see it. but he was up to 1972 in fact. Would like to get a hold of MB...

I don't think the sizes on Barrie's Ludwig Vistalite kit are quite accurate. I doubt he had two different diameter bass drums or a 20" floor tom.

Man those look good! I think I will follow up with a treat from the Ice Cream Lady Oh wait I ate that one already... in 1993 when she tossed it from the stage! Where is that Ice Cream Lady when you need her?? She's probably off changing her drawers?
