Not exactly 8mm film, these are from a 1/2'' video tape taken at the Fillmore East December 1969. I've seen the very bad quality version of this but only "A new day yesterday and for a thousand mothers" this appears to be many more songs possibly "Fat Man" ? Hmm pretty interesting. I also noticed the different angles that your 75 8mm is shot from. This wasn't just some audience member that shot this was it? Darin

If you have this film then I know you have quite the respectable collection. I have seen these stills before and have known about this film for many years. I thought they were e-mailed to me but I can't locate the image. What I saw must have originated from you. I have had several people asking me if I could locate this film for them. Hopefully it's somehow able to be released at some point. Thanks for posting!

Seeing this clip reminded me of the news that British Pathe have uploaded their entire (?) archive of nearly 82,000 clips to YouTube, so set about seeing what else was there. Unfortunately this was the only other Tull related clip I could find: Completely unrelated to this, those with a taste for the macabre might find this particularly fascinating: Cheers, jioffe

I do have the full video. There is about an hours worth of footage. I'll explain more about the Fillmore film when i have time. No, that is all one camera, I think you are forgetting about the stage projection that Ian & Marty used, it might of made it look i could of had different camera angles.

Excellent shot.. Thanks for sharing. Welcome. Glad you like it. & In case you are wondering my avatar is during Dharma For One! So B2, does the 69 Fillmore video have the same straight (and dry) board audio through out, with the overriding vocal channel up? sure like to see some more of that. :-) Darin (Are you a keyboard player? hence the B2?)

I never really noticed that until now.. But, yeah it's like that through out the recording. Unfortunately it isn't really mine to share.. Got it from the man who taped it, with the promise it wouldn't be released to the public.. Yes, Keyboard among other instruments How about yourself Darin?

The guitars etc. were loud on stage and didn't need to be going through the desk. If anyone has an audience recording of this gig it could be mixed with the vocal dominant board tape to create a nicely balanced recording. But that's a pretty big If. Someone should talk to the filmer about getting this 45 year old footage out to public as it's very historic by now and while the original tull fans are still with us. Maybe a Tull convention screening Just putting it out there.

Yes, our own Darin Cody is a great flautist/musician as you can hear from his "Bones" project. I really dig this album.

Yep, having heard him play on a couple of his recordings, as well as being lucky enough to hear him play live last year in Boston, I can vouch for how good he is. The 'bees knees' in fact!
