Hello everyone! On Deep Cuts 36, I've got lots of good stuff picked out for you, including some Camel (1970's symphonic prog with occasional flute), some rare live Tull from 1968, and a Sabbath-meets-Tull style group called Blood Ceremony! I'll be joined by my Avant-Prog buddy, Nick King, who will be co-presenting a listener-requested trip down the darkened Zeuhl path. Best known as a genre invented by Christian Vander of the legendary band, Magma, Zeuhl is a genre marked by its minimalist rhythms, invented languages, slow buildups, and epic climaxes. Zeuhl is a recurring theme in this week's program, not an extended onslaught, featuring groups such as Happy Family and Koenji Hyakkei. This will be topped off by a complete live performance of the quintessential Zeuhl masterwork, "Mekanik Destruktiw Kömmamdöh", from Magma's brand new Zuhn Wohl Unsai - 1974 album, captured in Bremen 40 years ago and finally released in May of 2014. Come and join me, it'll be an experience like none other! www.mixcloud.com/progrockdeepcuts/prog-rock-deep-cuts-36/

I must listen to this. Rare Tull plus Magma. I love Magma. My first experience with Zeuhl was kind of traumatic. I thought it was just noise. I was too young then. Years later it got to me. MDK is the work of a genius named Vander. Really incredible.
