Hello everyone! Prog Rock Deep Cuts #45 is now available for Streaming! On this week's Deep Cuts, I've got a more eclectic array of progressive music than you can shake an out-of-tune mellotron at! First off, I'll have some classic music from 1970's Dutch masters Supersister and their tremendous debut effort Present from Nancy. Renown in the heyday of progressive music for both their high musicianship and their irreverent sense of humor, Supersister combine Canterbury influenced, fuzz bass infused jazz rock with an almost Zappa-esque knack for taking a simple pop song and turning it on its head. In addition to this, I'll also be playing music from indie-pop jazzers Pixel as well as music from Univers Zero in celebration of the 35th anniversary of the seminal Heresie record. Lastly, I'll top it off with some choice cuts from Doctor Nerve, an American group set to appear at this year's RIO Festival who sound something like Eric Dolphy crossed with thrash metal as well as some Gong, echolyn, King Crimson, Zappa, and more! www.mixcloud.com/progrockdeepcuts/prog-rock-deep-cuts-45/
