Enjoyable show ..crowd more muted than Liverpool. A number of mistakes made during the performance ...did not affect enjoyment too much. But for anyone who likes to know such things here goes ....... Words were mixed up / forgotten in Meliora Sequamur and one other HE tune by Ian Anderson. Ian also made a few mistakes on the flute most noticeably on the flute intros to Enter The Uninvited and Cold Dead Reckoning. Also Ryan missed a line during Cold Dead Reckoning. I think this was caused by the addition of Ryan pretending to check numbers on a clip board during the song. I wonder if this added distraction which was not used in Liverpool will be used again.
Some songs were better ...in Birmingham in my opinion In particular Songs From The Wood and Farm on the Freeway.
Overall though , this is a very good tour....and despite obvious vocal shortcomings (which the band do their best to address) is worth checking out. All band members impressed

It was always inevitable that the audience was always going to applaud the 'best of' more as they're well known and you know that you can show your appreciation before (if song is introduced) and after. There was little chance to applaud in-between some songs of HE, as they generally kept going, sometimes with occasional additional spoken words from band members. At the end of Cold Dead Reckoning the crowd were ready to clap, cheer, stand and whistle (especially those listening for the first time), but then halted with the lovely little ending that's on the CD, with the band pretending to play then one by one leaving their instruments to make a line at front of stage for one bow. The crowd cheered again and IA announced they'll be back in 20 mins and then left stage. Had they of stood a little longer as they do just before the encore then I think more peeps would have gave a standing ovation.
